A bold, weekend-long mini arts and music festival, ‘It’s Happening’, is to take place in Derry next Saturday, May 11, and Sunday May 12.

The cross border collaboration supports a vision for positive change through art and music. ‘It’s Happening’ will infuse arts and music with positive mental health information, hopefully supporting cross border charities to solidify this message.

At the recent launch, the Holistic Organiser of ‘It’s Happening’, Marian Shanley-West, spoke of the plethora of talent who will converge on Derry from both sides of the border.

“This is the first event so we’re calling it ‘It’s Happening ~ Derry 2013’ because we actually have to get out there and make it happen! We hope to bring communities together, musicians, artists, people coming together to help make a change, including dozens of artists from the south.”
