Derry’s Jazz Festival - running since Thursday - has been hailed “a wonderful showcase” for the city.
Sinn Féin tourism spokesperson Councillor Maeve McLaughlin says the festival is now an “integral part of the calendar of events that take place in our city.”
“I would like to praise the organisers who have built on this event over several years. The event which takes place over the bank holiday weekend brings top class jazz acts to the city many of them free of charge and it has something for everyone in its programme.
“Derry has the ability to become a major venue for music festivals and the success of the Jazz Festival highlights what can be achieved with a vision and perseverance. The Jazz Festival gave a much needed boost to the hospitality, retail, and tourism sectors and it was a wonderful showcase for Derry,” she says.
And don’t forget we want your Jazz Fest pics and videos.
