Derry’s newest music festival, LinkFest, will be officially launched tomorrow night from 6pm at Sandinos Back Bar by a host of local acts including The Mad Hatters, Ego the Jackal, Balkan Alien Sound, Rory Harkin, Cuckoo, Libido Switch and Intermission.
LinkFest, which runs over three days from July 13-15, will be the ultimate showcase for Link Music Academy on Castle Street with over 60 acts in venues like Masons, Bound for Boston, The Castle Bar, The Gweedore Bar, The Playhouse Theatre and Cafe del Mondo.
The festival’s programme looks mighty impressive and on Friday, July 13, bands such Little Bear, Our Krypton Son, Swanee River, Triggerman, John Deery and the Heads, Best Boy Grip, By Any Means and Kevin ‘Mug’ Brown will play. Saturday, July 14, will see Bam Bam and the Calling, Seneron, Cuckoo, The Lost, Little Hooks, Levity Breaks and The Jepettos all performing live, and an all-ages gig in The Playhouse on July 14 will feature great young acts like Soak, Erin Mitchell, Lost Avenue, Controlled Conflict, alongside acts like Wyldling, Making Monsters and Dead Til’ Friday.
With literally dozens more acts to mention, the programme will be run in the ‘Derry Journal’ as LinkFest approaches.
