BBC Radio One have confirmed to the ‘Journal’ that although online ticket sales did not go ahead this morning for their landmark One Big Weekend event, one lucky person did manage to book their ticket over the phone lines before the plug was pulled on today’s ticket allocation.
There was widespread disappointment this morning across Derry as the online ticket allocation site failed to load and sales were put off until 9am tomorrow morning.
However a number of individuals were posting on various social media sites that they were able to secure tickets to the three day music festival which will be held at Ebrington from May 24-26.
However BBC Radio One confirmed this was simply not the case. “Due to technical issues with the BBC website, booking for the Big Weekend was postponed.
“The online systems did not open for bookings however one lucky person did manage to get through on the phones before the event was taken off line,” a spokesperson said.
