Popular Derry band, ‘Pørts’, will headline a special concert in the Sandwich Co. in Bishop’s Street tomorrow night.
The event, which is part of the Foyle Folk Festival, will see ‘Pørts’, ‘Malojian’, ‘Ard Ri Band’, ‘Rebecca Mulhern’ and ‘Quentin Wylie’ all perform on stage.
Tickets cost £12.50 and can be purchased online at WeGotTicktets.com and at The Sandwich Co. Doors open at 7.30pm, it’s also a bring your own event and the Sandwich Co. is providing a buffet.
To coincide with the Foyle Folk Workshops, two gigs (the first of which already took place on November 13 in Sandino’s and featured Robyn G Shiels) have been organised to maintain interest in the festival until 2015’s showpiece.
A spokesperson for Foyle Folk Festival said they were over the moon ‘Pørts’ were playing and said it will be an opportunity for music fans to hear songs from their debut album.
“We’re delighted to have ‘Pørts’ headline this event, as they haven’t yet featured at the fest itself. It is their last local show of the year and they will be debuting new tunes from their first album, which is due out early next year.
“Malojian has also been putting finishing touches to his second album and The Ard Ri Band will be recording a second album early next year. Rebecca Mulhern, who is opening up on the night was one of the participants at this year’s Foyle Folk Workshops that took place in the Nerve Centre this month.”
