The Royal Shakespeare Company will be making a welcome return to the city for the first time in over two decades this week with a powerful performance starring acclaimed Irish actress Camille O’Sullivan.
O’Sullivan will star alongside renowned local musician Feargal Murray in The Rape of Lucrece being staged at the Waterside Theatre as part of the City of Culture programme.
This politically charged performance has already won acclaim in Dublin where it played last week at the Dublin Theatre Festival, as well as gaining the attention of the critics at the Edinburgh Festival after successful tours in Australia and Poland.
The show’s producer Zoe Donegan said: “It’s over 20 years since we’ve visited Derry-Londonderry with one of our productions, and what better to return as part of the UK City of Culture 2013.”
The show runs at the Waterside Theatre from October 18-20. Tickets are on sale now from The Waterside Theatre and Millennium Forum Box Office and online at watersidetheatre.com and millenniumforum.com.
This production is not suitable for Under 16s.
