Police are appealing for information following an assault that occurred in the Foyle Street area of Derry in the early hours of Saturday May 28.

At approximately 12.15a.m., a 29 year-old man was assaulted by a number of youths. He required hospital treatment for his injuries.

Constable Fenton said: “I would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 838 of 31/05/16. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
