Manannán Mac Lir scuplture in storage
Standing at nine-feet two inches tall, Manannán Mac Lir is “back on his boat and nearly ready to be placed on his hill”, according to sculptor, John Darren Sutton, after its bizarre disappearance last year.
Causeway Coast & Glens Council said: “Manannán Mac Lir structure is currently in storage awaiting installation. Council is currently investigating site works required for its installation which is scheduled for the near future.”

“I am delighted to hear the sculpture is almost ready for its return, as I have always been passionate about it and very aware of John Darren’s talents. I think it could really benefit tourism in the Causeway Coast & Glens Borough, but it needs to be marketed properly. When it was stolen it became a worldwide phenomenon,” said Colr. Mullan. “I hope we can use the old one as an educational tool and to draw tourists.”
