WATCH: April cold snap as yellow snow and ice warning issued

The cold snap has brought with it spells of snow and hail in parts of Derry and Inishowen today with forecasters predicting temperatures will stay in single digits throughout this week.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice for the north from 10pm tonight through to 10am tomorrow, Tuesday.

Hide AdThey have also advised that some travel disruption could occur, while untreated roads and pavements are likely to be hazardous.
Met Eireann meanwhile has said the scattered showers of sleet, snow and hail will continue across Ulster tonight, in a fresh and gusty north to northwest wind, strong on coasts.
Overnight, they are forecasting: “Further scattered wintry showers will push down from the north later. Very cold with frost, especially in sheltered areas. Lowest temperatures of -2 to +1 degrees, in a light to moderate northwest breeze, fresh on coasts.”
Tomorrow meanwhile will bring “another unseasonably cold day on Tuesday with fresh northerly winds feeding down more wintry showers”.
The wintry showers are expected to die away by Tuesday evening but it will remain cold enough for the rest of the week.
