Damian Wilson, Managing Director of Click Energy, said the company is delighted to help support the vital services provided by Samaritans volunteers in Northern Ireland, especially for the many callers struggling to cope emotionally during the current pandemic.

He said: “Click Energy has supported a number of well-known charities since the company was established over five years ago. Our team were particularly keen that we would help support people who may be feeling alone with difficult thoughts or feelings during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are delighted to assist the brilliant people at Samaritans.

“The large amount donated to date since we launched the Click Energy fundraising appeal last October demonstrates the kindness and generosity of our loyal customers, and the money raised will contribute to supporting the vital work carried out by Samaritans.”

Alan Heron, Regional Director, Samaritans Northern Ireland, thanked Click Energy for its ongoing support. He said: “The current challenges which have arisen from COVID-19 have had an added emotional impact on many people.

"Every pound raised through donations helps provide a lifeline for callers to Samaritans; whatever you’re facing, a Samaritan will face it with you. We are thrilled that in the 60th birthday year of Samaritans Belfast, the first branch established in Northern Ireland, Click Energy customers have been so generous in supporting us.

“Calls to Samaritans are received by volunteers trained in listening skills and you can be assured that all calls are fully confidential. We provide dedicated training and support to all volunteers during their time as part of a caring organisation that puts supporting and listening to anyone in need of emotional support as its top priority.”
