Altnagelvin A&E 'very busy' with Western Trust urging people only to attend in an emergency
Altnagelvin A&E is extremely busy this afternoon, according to the Western Trust which is asking people only to attend in the case of an emergency.

A spokesperson for the Western Trust stated: "There are 91 people in Emergency Department and 19 waiting to be admitted. Please only attend the ED if you have a medical or mental health emergency."
People are asked to consider alternative healthcare options and if they must attend A&E to do so alone with the exception of children and vulnerable adults with communication difficulties.
Mask-wearing and other anti-COVID-19 distancing and sanitisation protocols are also compulsory.
