COVID-19 prevalence drops slightly on cityside but no real change in Waterside of Derry

The seven-day COVID-19 rate in the BT48 postcode area has dropped slightly while there has been no real change in the prevalence of the illness in the Waterside where the rate is much lower, according to the latest geographical breakdown.

Between March 29 and April 4 there were 47 SARS-CoV-2 cases on the cityside (BT48) giving a rate per 100,000 of 77.2, down slightly from a figure of 85.4 per 100,000 for the March 22 to March 28 period that was registered last week.

In the BT47 postal area - the Waterside to Dungiven - there were 23 positive tests over the same weekly period giving a rate per 100,000 of 37.2, no real change from the figure of 38.8 this time last week.

In Strabane (BT82) there were 14 cases giving a prevalence rate of 52.1 cases per 100,000. This was well down on the figure of 122.7 last week.

In Castlederg there were one COVID-19 case giving a rate per 100,000 of 12.7.
