Derry COVID-19 rate remains largely unchanged at 52.4 cases per 100,000

Between March 9 and March 15, there were 79 confirmed positive cases of the virus in the district giving a seven day rate per 100,000 of 52.4, up from 51.8 yesterday.

Derry Strabane is recording the fourth lowest coronavirus rate in the north. The only areas with lower rates are Fermanagh and Omagh (34.2), Newry, Mourne and Down (46.1) and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (49.1).

Rates are higher in Mid Ulster (85.4), Mid and East Antrim (81.5), Belfast (69.2), Causeway Coast and Glens (68.6), Antrim and Newtownabbey (66.6), Ards and North Down (60.3) and Lisburn and Castlereagh (56.5).

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between March 14 and March 15 was 13.

In total 11,342 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
