Derry/Strabane COVID-19 case rate falls for first time since Sunday

The seven-day COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 in Derry and Strabane fell on Saturday but remains the second highest in the north.

Between November 14 and November 20 there were 336 positive coronavirus cases in Derry and Strabane giving a seven day rate of 223, down from 227.6 on Friday.

It's the first nominal decrease since last Sunday but the Derry/Strabane seven day rate is still well above the average rate for the north which is 165.5.

The rate in Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, previously the highest in the north, has fallen below that in Derry and is now at 216.2.

Mid Ulster has risen to 235.9 and is now recording the highest case rate in the six counties.

All other districts posted rates lower than 200 per 100,000. The rate in Newry, Mourne and Down is now below 100.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between November 19 and November 20 was 43.

In total 6,548 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
