Derry/Strabane COVID-19 rate rises to second highest in the north

The seven-day COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 in Derry and Strabane has risen for the fourth consecutive day and is now the second highest in the north after Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon and well above the average for the north.

Between November 12 and November 18 there were 333 positive coronavirus cases in Derry and Strabane giving a seven day rate of 221, up from 209.7 on the equivalent measure yesterday

The Derry/Strabane seven day rate is now significantly above the average rate for the north which is 180.7.

Now only Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (248) is recording a higher rate in Derry and Strabane as recent progress on reducing transmission locally appears to have slipped backwards this week.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between November 17 and November 18 was 57.

In total 6,460 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
