Five more admitted with COVID-19 to Altnagelvin which has 8.64 per cent capacity left

At midnight on Sunday 41 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Five of 12 (41.67%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; seven (58.33%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and none were free.

Nine ICU patients in total were being ventilated - five were COVID-19 patients and four were non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 8.33% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 80.25% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 8.64% capacity left in the system: 2.78% were ‘awaiting admission.’

There have been no further deaths.
