Mid Ulster and Belfast now recording higher COVID-19 rates but figure in Derry and Strabane remains a very high 459.9 per 100,000

Mid Ulster and Belfast are now recording higher seven day incidence rates for COVID-19, according to the latest Department of Health data.

Between October 21 and October 27 there were 693 positive lab tests in Derry and Strabane giving a seven day case rate of 459.9 per 100,000.

In Mid Ulster, over the same period, there were 773 positive tests giving a seven day rate of 524, the highest in the north for the second day running.

The Belfast rate is now running higher than Derry and Strabane as well. There were 1,581 positive tests between October 21 and October 27 giving a rate of 463.3.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between October 26 and October 27 was 106.

In total 5262 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane since the health crisis began in the spring.
