Mid Ulster continues to record higher COVID-19 rate than Derry

Mid Ulster continues to record a higher seven day incidence rates for COVID-19 than Derry and Strabane, according to the latest Department of Health data

However, the rate in Derry and Strabane has risen above Belfast once again.

Between October 22 and October 28 there were 645 positive lab tests in Derry and Strabane giving a seven day case rate of 428.1 per 100,000.

In Mid Ulster, over the same period, there were 731 positive tests giving a seven day rate of 495.1, the highest in the north for the third day running.

There were 1,446 positive tests in Belfast between October 22 and October 28 giving a rate of 423.8.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between October 27 and October 28 was 86.

In total 5348 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane since the health crisis began in the spring.
