A Derry vet practice specialising in small animals has had a busy lockdown with a surge in people buying pets during the pandemic.

Foyleview Veterinary Clinic, one of the last independent vets in the city, has seen a noticeable increase in the number of people who’ve added a new furry friend to the family.

The clinic, which also covers Strabane, Limavady, and Donegal, provides professional veterinary services and pet care plans for all small animals.

And the team at the Victoria Road practice is on hand for all your needs with the launch of its new PETS APP where you can talk to staff, make appointments and pay for medication online.

“We’ve been really busy during lockdown and have actually taken on more staff to cope with the demand,” says practice owner and lead vet Barbara Lowry.

Vet Sarah Cole has now joined Barbara and fellow vet Barbara Shaw on the all-female team, which also includes nurses Gwen McClean, Shelbie Thompson and Louise Early, as well as student nurse Courtney White and practice manager Joanne Killen.

“We all have our own pets at home and are passionate about providing the best independent care for people in Derry and the surrounding areas,” she adds.

You can receive great discounts on other services like dental treatment and tailor the plan to include the level of flea treatment you wish, for example.

"We are a family-run practice and the only independent small animal practice in the North West, which really sets us apart," says Barbara. "We combine friendly expert staff with state-of-the-art equipment to provide your pet with the care and attention we would want our own animals to receive."

Foyleview, in Ballyore Business Park, Newbuildings, is open from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday.
