Tickets for this year's Walled City Tattoo selling out fast

The 2016 Walled City Tattoo is almost sold out.
Stickstoff have been announced as the headline act for the return of the Walled City Tattoo 2016. The Tattoo returns to the Maiden City in concert on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th May at the Millennium Forum with a huge cast and ambitious set which includes dancers, pipers, drummers , choirs and Britians Got Talent finalists Old Men Grooving. The Tattoo returns this year on May 6 and 7 after a year-long break.

Acts will include ‘stickStoff’, the Basel based drumming group, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalists ‘Old Men Grooving’ and 2015 world pipe band champions ‘Colmcille Pipe Band’.

The theme this year is a celebration of anniversaries with a number of acts celebrating significant milestones in the last 12 months. ‘Churchill Flute Band’ are celebrating their 180th anniversary; ‘Britannia Band’ are celebrating 150 years; Long Tower are celebrating 100 years; Raphoe Pipe band are now in their 80th year and the Sollus highland dancers were formed 15 years ago.

Chairman of Walled City Tattoo, James Kee, thanked funders Office of First Minister and Deputy First Minister (OFMDFM), Arts Council NI and Derry City and Strabane District Council for making the event a possibility.

“We’re very grateful to the funders who have supported this years event. It’s a testament to the tattoo that funders can recognise the benefits a show such as this can bring to the wider community and we look forward to building this event in the years to come so that we can continue to give the audience a show all of the family can enjoy.
