A series of planning applications for new homes in the Waterside area have been approved by the Council’s Planning Committee.
All of the homes are to be constructed in the H24 zoned lands between the Currynierin and Tullyally areas of the city.
The three applications have been submitted by the same developer, and a planning officer said the first site for 53 homes would be closest to the existing Tullyally Road.
He added that the applications were “inter-connected and interlinked”, with common open spaces and a large square with equipped play area.
A footpath will be constructed to link up with the southern portion of Tullyally Road.
There will be several different house types built in the three phase development.
The plans were unanimously backed by all Councillors on the Committee and will now progress to full council for ratification.
