40th anniversary of Muff Red Cross

As the 40th anniversary of the Muff Branch of the Irish Red Cross is coming up shortly, the group is looking for any old photographs or stories that would help them to put together enough information to create a Souvenir Book to mark this very special occasion. Anyone who can help with this are asked to leave them in the Post Office or Harkin’s Shop or contact Majella on 0861933808 or Carmel on 0868142950. Photographs should have your name and address on the back to ensure you get them returned.

The organisers of the Auction held in St. Mary’s Community Hall last week would like to thank everyone who helped to make the auction such a success, all those who donated items to be auctioned, those who came on the day to buy and hopefully went away with a few good bargains, the workers who made sure that everything on display was sold, the tea ladies who supplied the lovely tea and scones – without all these people who gave their time the auction could not have taken place. The amount raised was 1561.57 euro and £51.90; this money will go a long way in helping with the cost accrued in the running of the hall.
