540km Donegal Atlantic Way Ultra Race later this month

Some of Inishowen's main landmarks will feature along the Donegal Atlantic Way Ultra Race, which takes place from June 24 to 26.

The ultra cycling event will see cyclists from all over Ireland, UK and Europe line up for the first edition of endurance race.

The race route follows the Wild Atlantic Way around the rugged coastline of Donegal.

The route takes competitors past Malin Head, Mamore Gap, Knockalla, Atlantic Drive, Horn Head, Carrickfin, Glengesh Pass, Sliabh League and Barnesmore Gap.

The Donegal Atlantic Way Ultra Race is designed to be a stepping stone for anyone looking to take on Race Around Ireland or other ultra cycling events.

The event is open to solo racers and relay teams of two-person, three-four-person and eight-person teams.
