Altnagelvin has 5.20% capacity left in system - double the total COVID-19 occupancy at Derry hospital

At midnight on Sunday 18 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Just two of 10 (20%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; six (60%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and two (20%) were free.

Six ICU patients in total were being ventilated - two were COVID-19 patient and four were non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 2.45% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 88.38% were ‘other occupied’ and there was 5.20% capacity left in the hospital system; 3.98% were ‘awaiting admission.’

There have been no further deaths.
