Amelia Earhart Women in Aviation event in Derry

The Amelia Earhart Legacy Association will be staging a celebratory event this Saturday at the Central Library in Derry from 2pm to 4pm.

The event will take place to mark Women of Aviation Worldwide, and is one of many taking place across the world this week.

There will be two guest speakers at the Derry event, esteemed authors Sinead Cox and Felicity McCall,

Film footage relating to Amelia Earhart’s record-breaking trans-Atlantic landing in Ballyarnett back in 1932 will be screened in the library during the event.

There will also be colouring in events for children from 3pm along the theme of ‘Plane Part Identification’.

The event is open to all.
