Anger at quad bikes in Gobnascale

Sinn Féin election candidate Geraldine O’Donnell has called for more to be done to tackle the misuse of quad bikes on green spaces in the Top of the Hill area.

Mrs O’Donnell said; “We have been inundated with complaints from residents about a small group of people who are destroying green spaces in a local park which backs on to Hollymount by driving off road scramblers and quads across it .

Many of the older members of the community and families with young children have stopped going to the park because they are fearful someone will be seriously injured if they get hit with one of these machines.

“There is a lot of anger that the small group driving about mad on these machines can hold the entire community to ransom.”
