Groups helping people with learning disabilities in the Limavady area are celebrating after receiving grants from the Big Lottery Fund.
Friends of Moving on Up, a new organisation that supports young people and adults with a learning disability with training and personal development opportunities, has received a £10,000 grant from Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.
Drummond Cricket Club, which provides facilities for cricket teams, football teams and a range of community based activities, received a grant of £5,825 for improvements to their building so it can be used for more community activities.
Benedy Community Association offers services and facilities for all age groups in the community centre, which is the hub of the rural community of Benedy. They’re using the £10,000 grant to upgrade facilities in the centre and offer a range of classes including health and safety and first aid training, healthy lifestyle, personal development and child development classes, and outings for young people and the elderly.
