The biking and charity communities in Derry have been left stunned by the death of well loved local biker Shaun Kelly - who passed away yesterday.

A current member of Exiles RC and former member of Bikers for Charity, it is believe Shaun took ill unexpectedly at the weekend.

There has been an outpouring of grief across social media for the father of three.

Among the hundreds of sympathy messages came one from Alan Bates, father of the late Rhiannon - who Shaun had a great fondness for.

He wrote: “Today we lost a good friend and a true gentleman who lived every minute of his life for his wife Sharon, and children Dearbhla, Caitlin and Caoimhe.

No words will ease the pain and loss they are suffering but I hope this photo reminds them that a very special young lady will be waiting for him.”

His fellow bikers at Exiles RC wrote that they were remembering the “good and the great times”.

They also called for members of the biking community to help give Shaun the best send off they could.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalised.
