Body recovered from River Foyle

It is understood the body was recovered earlier today.

Searches have been ongoing to recover the remains of two young men who are believed to have lost their lives in the river in separate incidents more than a month apart.

However the identity of the person whose remains have been recovered has not been confirmed as yet.

A spokesperson for Foyle Search and Rescue said today: “There has been a body recovery and police are currently dealing with it.”

Police have yet to issue a statement.
