A Buncrana businesswoman has been nominated in one of the country’s most prestigious beauty awards.
Una Tynan, founder of Blank Canvas Cosmetics, has been nominated in the Image Business of Beauty Awards as Beauty Entrepreneur of 2017.
She faces tough competition from the likes of Jane Swarbrigg from Inglot Cosmetics, Gillian Moore-Brady from Fuschia Make-up and Blanaid Johnson from Cloud 10 Beauty.
Dubbed as Ireland’s ‘Hair and Beauty Oscars’, the Image Business of Beauty Awards will be held in Dublin’s Clayton Hotel on April 9, with online voting closing at midnight on April 2. Speaking to the ‘Journal’, Una said she was “delighted” to be nominated.
“It’s always nice to get a mention and from Image, it’s an honour because I have been a big fan of the magazine for years.
“Image support businesses in a very big way so it’s lovely to be recognised,” she said.
Una and the team behind Blank Canvas Cosmetics have had a busy few years, and have recently launched a number of new products including the solid brush and sponge cleaning soap, and the Dimension Series of brushes, which have all received rave reviews.
“This year has gotten off to a brilliant start with the success of the new solid soap and Dimension Series.
“We have lots more planned for this year, and in the last two years we’ve seen a huge rise in international markets which I’m very excited about,” said Una.
