'˜Burst into tears' when he heard the news

Jamie, who set-up his own charity to help young people with cancer in 2015 has become unwell since January and last week was admitted to the Sperrin Unit in Altnagelvin Hospital for the third time this year.

Jamie has recovered cancer twice since he was 11 years-old.

Passionate Liverpool supporter, Jamie, has spent the last 12 months helping others but his poor health has forced him to rest and seek medical advice.

On learning about Jamie’s plight a few of the families and children to have received help from ‘Jamie’s Journie’ came together to organise a special sponsored walk in his honour. The walk will take place in St. Columb’s Park on Saturday May 7.

“When Jamie heard about what the young people wanted to do for him he burst into tears,” said Jamie’s mum, Patricia.

“Jamie is so annoyed that he isn’t at himself at the minute but he is very ill and we need all of the prayers and help we can get,” she added.

A student at Lumen Christi College, Jamie should be preparing for his G.C.S.E.s but instead he is battling with the after effects of beating cancer twice.

“We are so thankful for all of the messages of support and the staff at the Sperrin Unit in Altnagelvin Hospital have been amazing - fingers crossed Jamie starts to feel better soon,” said Patricia.
