Deadline pending for award nominations

The organisers of the 2011 Roe Valley Business Awards have received more than 100 nominations for businesses from all over Roe Valley Borough and are encouraging businesses that want to get involved to ensure they are nominated before the deadline of 4pm on Thursday 3rd November.

Marc McGerty from Accelerate Business Support Agency, who is co-ordinating the Awards, said: “Once again we have been astonished by the volume and range of nominations for the Roe Valley Business Awards. We were somewhat overwhelmed with the volume of nominations last year and as anticipated we have received a very high volume of nominations once again in 2011. It is very encouraging that so many local businesses are keen to get involved.

“It is very straightforward to get involved in the 2011 Roe Valley Business Awards. You simply have to ensure that your business is nominated. Once you’ve been nominated we will send you a Baseline Information Form and more information on the criteria for each of the categories. The completed Baseline Information Forms will be used to identify suitable Judging Administration Officers as well as identifying whether your business is in the most suitable and appropriate award categories.

“Nominations can be made online at, but don’t forget that the deadline for Nomination Forms is 4.00pm on Thursday 3rd November 2011. Every business that has been nominated will receive a ‘Business Awards 2011 Nominee’ certificate which should be displayed proudly in their business premises.”

“Once we have the nominees confirmed we will appoint each business a Judging Administration Officer.

This team of officers will meet with the nominees to gather the necessary information to assist the Judging Panel with the selection of winners.”

The awards will culminate in a black tie gala event on Saturday the 19th November in Radisson Blu Roe Park Resort, and the night will be hosted by Apprentice Finalist Jim Eastwood. Tickets for the Gala Event are £40 per head. In 2010 we had requests for over 400 tickets, so to avoid disappointment please book tickets immediately.

The first 100 tickets will be allocated openly, and the remainder of the tickets will only be allocated to nominees.
