More than 30 jobs have been created in Derry with the opening of a new discount store in the city.

The Poundworld store in the Richmond Centre opened last Friday and it’s the second Poundworld store in the city. The company already has a store at Waterloo Place.

The company’s trading director Chris Edwards Junior says the store will create 33 jobs in the city.

“We’re really delighted to be opening our store in Londonderry, creating 30 new jobs for the area. Busy shoppers can take advantage of our consistently great deals to lower the cost of their weekly shop.

“We look forward to welcoming customers through our doors and we hope our new store will prove a big hit with savvy shoppers in Londonderry,” he said.
