Donegal native and former Ilex chair Roy McNulty promoted the benefit of Gatwick’s expansion for the tourism industry here during a visit to Belfast on Wednesday.
A second runway at Gatwick is among the options shortlisted by the Airports Commission.
The current Gatwick Chair said: “I’m pleased to be back in Belfast and to be able to outline why Gatwick’s expansion plans offer greater benefits and stronger links to Northern Ireland. Gatwick is already the best-connected London airport for Northern Ireland, links that would only strengthen with expansion. There is a pressing need for another runway in the South East of England.”
Discussions focused on how “expansion can best be planned to maximise air connectivity for nations and regions throughout the UK”.
