The 21st Annual Northern Ireland Economic Conference is expected to take place in Derry for the first time this year.
The conference is the main economic analysis event staged in the North each year. Policy-makers and business leaders will be attending the event at the City Hotel on October 19.
Membeers of Derry City & Strabane District Council’s Business & Culture Committee were told on Tuesday that staging the conference would provide “an excellent opportunity to highlight the importance of balanced regional economic development across Northern Ireland and will emphasise the key role Derry plays as an economic driver for the wider North West city region”.
Council sponsorship of the conference is £9,995 and is expected to be allocated from existing budgets.
