The Derry team behind the release of an exciting new children’s picture book and app are offering people in the North West the chance to put on their best frog voice!
Dog Ears and Cartoon Saloon are releasing the new picture book and app called Puffins’ Rock on August 31 and for a bit of pre-launch fun they’re offering people the opportunity to star as a character in the app.
The team want to find a child and adult who can make a decent frog sound – some good ‘ribbits!’ Specifically, the story needs a baby frog and a mama frog.
Dog Ears Managing Director, Fionnuala Deane, is looking forward to hearing a chorus of frogs.
She said: “We think it’s a great idea to give someone the chance to star in our new app, and we can’t wait to hear what crazy sounds people send through. The frogs are my favourite characters in the story, so we need some world class ribbits!”
To get involved just ‘like’ the Dog Ears Facebook page at facebook.com/cheersdogears then send in your audio or video ribbit audition.
The Dog Ears crew will choose their favourite and bring the successful ‘ribbitors’ into the studio to record their sounds – which will feature in the Puffins’ Rock app. Imagine, your ‘ribbits’ could be heard across the globe…
Puffins’ Rock is set on an island off the coast of Ireland, inhabited by puffins and animals and other birds, and follows the lives of one family of puffins. The story focuses on Oona and Baba, sister and brother ‘pufflings,’ on their adventure around the island as they follow the sounds they hear.
Help them discover, “Who made that sound?” and meet some of the amazing creatures who live on Puffins Rock…
Dog Ears are launching the Puffins’ Rock picture book and app as part of the Culture Tech Festival this August. Go to facebook.com/cheersdogears for your chance to star in their new app...
All entries must be submitted by Friday, June 20 and recording will taking place the following week.
