The man held up as the transforming force behind C-TRIC, based at Altnagelvin, is to leave his post as Business Development Manager to take up a two year secondment with Invest Northern Ireland.
Barry Henderson has been key in bringing new investments and companies into C-TRIC, and his new role, which will be based in Boston, will build on the relationships he has built up while at C-TRIC
Speaking to the ‘Journal’ ahead of his departure he said, “It’s an exciting time and I’m really looking forward to it. My new role will have two strategies.
“Firstly, I will be Business Development Director for Life Sciences, which will deal with developing the infrastructure to encourage investment into Northern Ireland, and facilitate trade on the way to America too.
“I will also continue to work on NIMAC, the Northern Ireland Massachusetts Connection. A good relationship already exists there so I’ll be building on that work.”
Barry’s wife and family will remain in Derry, supporting Barry’s move.
“They are all behind me move and are looking forward to spending the summer holidays in Boston. I will also be home four or five times a year too.
“I remain committed to Derry and enjoyed my work at C-TRIC but this two year secondment was an opportunity that was too good to let pass. I’m looking forward to the experience.”
