A campaign to find the North’s pet hero has been launched by vets.
The two-month search is looking for a pet who has gone above and beyond the normal and achieved some extraordinary.
Nominations will be accepted throughout July, before a shortlist of finalists is announced. The public will then be asked to vote for the overall winner.
And the winner will be rewarded with the opportunity of becoming the face of a new marketing campaign for Vets4Pets.
Kerensa Scott, veterinary surgeon and owner at Vets4Pets Carrickfergus, said: “Working in the veterinary profession means I often hear unique stories of pets doing something remarkable.
“For most owners, their pets are a member of the family and a source of companionship, but for some owners, their pet is also a one-of-a-kind hero.
“Whether it is a dog who has saved someone’s life or a cat who has survived a life-threatening illness or injury, we want to hear all about it.
“Any pet from Northern Ireland is eligible to enter and we are looking forward to seeing and reading about all the wonderful nominations from across the country.
“This competition is an opportunity for owners to give their heroic pets the spotlight they deserve.
“Who better to be the face of Vets4Pets Northern Ireland’s new marketing campaign than a true pet hero.”
Owners can nominate their pet by simply posting their pet’s photo and story onto their local Vets4Pets practice’s Facebook page. Entries close on Friday August 19.
Each Vets4Pets practice will then reveal their winner, who will then go into the final. The public can then vote for their favourite on Facebook, before Vets4Pets Northern Ireland’s Pet Hero is crowned in early September
The overall winner become face of a new Vets4Pets marketing campaign and recieve £25 Pets at Home vouchers plus a Pets at Home/Vets4Pets Hamper worth £100. All finalists will receive a £25 Pets at Home vouchers.
