The Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre/Ionad Ealaíon agus Cultúir Ghleann na Ró is appealing for help with a future exhibition entitled Wedding Belles.
The exhibition, which is due to take place in Spring 2012, will feature a selection of wedding dresses belonging to local residents and the centre is appealing for a loan of dresses from any decade. Whether you got married in the wartime era, the heady days of the 1960s and 70s or even just last week, the centre wants to hear from you!
Victoria Newberry, Museum/Heritage Officer said, “Weddings are such a central event in many people’s lives.
“We really want the local community to get involved in the making of this exhibition and be part of the exhibition itself. In addition to wedding dresses, we are also looking to borrow other wedding accessories such as photographs, wedding favours, invitations and cards so if people have items that they think would be of interest, I urge them to get in touch.”
All items selected for display will be returned to owners when the exhibition concludes. For further information please contact: Victoria Newberry, Museum/Heritage Officer Tel: 028 7776 0650 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
