Car extensively damaged after set on fire

Police in Limavady are appealing for information after an Audi car was extensively damaged when it was set on fire in the town on Friday, shortly before 7pm in the Roe Mill Road area.

Police and NI Fire & Rescue Service attended the incident. Police say there was extensive damage caused to the car.

A NI Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: “Early indications would suggest it was a deliberate fire.”

The ‘Journal’ understands the driver was parking the car when approached by several men who took the car. The vehicle was discovered a short distance away, having been set alight.

Police urge anyone with information about the incident to contact CID in Limavady Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
