Cara Dillon's voice is '˜sublime' - says Ed Sheeran

Acclaimed Dungiven singer Cara Dillon can count two of the world's biggest music stars as being among her fans, writes Sheena Jackson.

Global star, Ed Sheeran has described her voice as ‘sublime’ while Oscar winner Sam Smith said ‘this woman’s voice holds so many beautiful memories in my heart’.

The high praise from Sheeran and Smith comes as Cara Dillon has been announced on the bill for Looe Music Festival in Cornwall, performing on Sunday 25th September, joining a number of high profile acts, including legend Bryan Ferry.

Award-winning cara Dillon, who sang the title track of Disney’s Tinker Bell, has received countless accolades over the years, including BBC Folk Awards, a Meteor Music Award, and Tatler’s ‘Woman of The Year’ in Music.

The folk songstress, who won the All Ireland Singing Trophy at the age of 14, sang on the title track to the hit movie “Keeping Mum” starring Rowan Atkinson, Maggie Smith and Patrick Swayze and sang live to a televised audience of several hundred million at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Ryder Cup.

Together with her husband and musical partner, Sam Lakeman, has sold out venues around the world, including China where her music is used to help students learn English.
