Local researcher and author, Seoirse Ó Dochartaigh, will be launching his book entitled Inis Eoghain The Island of Eoghan: The place-names of Inishowen at Monreagh Ulster Scots Heritage Centre next week.
The talk, held to celebrate Heritage Week (20th - 28th August), will talk of the origin of place names in the peninsula.
Everyone is most welcome to attend what will be a most interesting and enjoyable evening..
The Ulster Scots Heritage Centre are also hosting a family fun day on Sunday 28 August, 2-5 pm featuring The Journeymen with a stonemason and a saddler giving demonstrations in their trade.
Local musicians will also be entertaining visitors and a local genealogist will be on hand for those who wish to learn more about their past.
There will also be facepainting and butter making for the children as well as tours of the Centre for those who wish to learn more about the Centre and the Ulster Scots Story, which is part of our shared heritage.
The day is open to absolutely everybody free of charge, and we encourage everybody to come along.
