The College Field car park has the capacity to accommodate hundreds of people and is just a short journey from St Eugene’s Cathedral, where the service will take place at 3.30pm.

Thousands are expected at the Funeral Mass to say farewell to the man many have referred to as ‘The People’s Bishop’.

Many were already gathering at the Cathedral this morning.

The President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, is expected to be among those attending the service this afternoon, as well as a representative from Pope Francis.
