Foyleside Shopping Centre has been recognised for excellence in disability services and facilities.
Staff were awarded visual awareness training certificates from RNIB and have been given the Disabled Parking Award (DPA) for excellent disabled parking facilities. Five members of the Foyleside customer services team completed a course in visual awareness training with RNIB, which allows them to efficiently and effectively assist customers with visual impairments in order to ensure a good shopping experience in the centre.
As well as this, DMUK (Disabled Motoring UK) assessors declared that the car park had all the correct measures in place to enable disabled people to use the facilities at Foyleside. The assessors check that the car park has the correct number of accessible bays, alternative methods of payment for disabled people who can’t use standard car park machinery and good signage to the disabled bays.
