The President of Derry’s Chamber of Commerce, Gerry Kindlon, has praised this year’s CultureTECH Festival.

Mr. Kindlon described the celebration of all things digital as ‘wonderful’ and ‘impressive’.

“CultureTECH is a child of the Chamber, but it has grown up very quickly and is proving a wonderful success.

“We congratulate everyone involved for all their hard work in putting together a programme of events that is even more impressive and exciting than in previous years.

“Each CultureTECH event has been great – and each has been even better than the year before. This year is following in this tradition.” he said.

Mr. Kindlon singled out the festival focus on working with young people as one of its prize assets.

“Some 16,000 young people have signed up to take part in events during this week.

“The educational dimension to CultureTECH has grown each year. This is contributing to the commitment by Londonderry Chamber of Commerce and CultureTECH to the development of education and skills and to the future of work for our region.”

Mr. Kindlon finished off by thanking all of the sponsors behind this year’s festival.

“The Chamber of Commerce would like to put on record our thanks to all the sponsor organisations and partners, including Derry City Council, the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Arts & Business, the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland Screen, Ilex and Honeycomb Creative Works.”
