Charity appeals for return of tickets

Children in Crossfire is appealing to supporters to return raffle ticket stubs and payment for their prize draw today.

Money raised from the Derry-based international charity’s raffle will help children like three year old Lelisa who lives with his parents in Ethiopia. Lelisa was recently treated in a Children in Crossfire funded hospital. He had been suffering from malnutrition and was very small for his age. Luckily a Children in Crossfire trained Health Worker was making house calls in Lelisa’s village and had him admitted to hospital straightaway.

First prize in this year’s raffle is £1,000, second prize is £500 and there will also be four prizes of £50 vouchers donated by Sainsbury’s, Strand Road. Supporters are now being urged to return their ticket stubs by using the freepost envelope provided or drop them into the office at 2 St Joseph’s Avenue, Derry.

Head of Fundraising, John Ryan McLaughlin, said: “It is difficult times for many in Northern Ireland but we’re hoping that our supporters will be able to sell some tickets to friends, family and colleagues at £1 each.”
