Mrs O’Hagan said thanked all the volunteers involved, including those from the Church’s committee who cooked the breakfasts, to the sponsors who donated the food and to everyone who supported the event.

The committee - formed in 1993 - will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2018. The committee, to date, has raised close to £320,000.

Mrs. O’Hagan said all the money raised stays local.

Cancer Research Fundraising manager, Sharon Arbuckle, praised the group as “inspirational”, and added: “They’re an amazing group and they can pull the whole community together.”
