Children in homes not told of siblings
The Inquiry team concluded that there was 'a widespread and pervasive practise of ignoring or concealing the existence of siblings' in Termonbacca or Nazareth House.
This was branded a “cruel and unjustifiable practise, and one which was a serious form of emotional abuse,” which was to cause “great and lasting distress” to many witnesses.
There were also instances whereby children were prevented from receiving letters from their parents.
