It was a far from a ‘trashy’ wedding for Junk Kouture founder Elizabeth!
Saturday, 27 July saw the beautiful wedding of Junk Kouture founder Elizabeth O’Donnell as she tied the knot with her long-term partner, Derry man John Curran. Elizabeth is famed for founding the recycled fashion competition, Junk Kouture, which challenges secondary level students to design couture pieces of fashion art from recycled items
The magnificent St Mary’s Oratory in Elizabeth’s hometown, Buncrana, played host to the day, with the reception held in the sumptuous surroundings of The Red Door in Fahan. The setting was as beautiful as the bride (who wore a custom-designed gown by esteemed Irish designer, Jen Kelly), with landscaped lawns, views of Inch Island and the banks of Lough Swilly.
Elizabeth said: “I had a brilliant day and I must say using one of Junk Kouture’s designs for my wedding had crossed my mind! I couldn’t be happier to be embarking on married life with John and I’m so excited to be going to Egypt on honeymoon, although I really can’t wait to get back and get started with Junk Kouture again!”
With Junk Kouture having successfully established itself as the premiere fashion competition for schools in Ireland, and now entering married life, life is going brilliantly for Elizabeth
