Community Centre Christmas Showcase

QPCC will be holding its annual Christmas showcase/concert this Sunday, 14th December in the Community Centre, starting at 3pm. The showcase will feature children from the kids’ club, and other groups that use the centre such as ballet and Irish dancers. If any other groups that use the centre would like to participate in the showcase, please contact us on 074 9383653 or email The concert will be followed by the arrival of Santa Claus to meet the children, and switch on the Christmas tree lights. There will be no entrance fee, although donations would be welcome. Come along for some Christmas cheer and to celebrate the talents of people within our community! A large community turnout would be appreciated.

A Christmas Market will also take place on Sunday in the community centre from 1pm prior to, and alongside, the Christmas Showcase. Anyone who would like to book a stall (€10 per table) please either call 074 9383653 or email or message us on facebook. We have already a variety of stalls booked to sell sweets, baking, paintings, knitwear, make up, photographs, jewellery, aloe vera products and much more.

There was no jackpot winner in the QPCC/RCD Lotto. Winning numbers were 5,15,21, and 24. The four €15 winners were Packie Doherty, Redcastle; K & E Boyle, Quigley’s Point; Bob McGonagle, Clar; and Ava Doherty, Carrickmaquigley. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,600.

Redcastle New Year’s Day Swim 2015 is being hosted by the Redcastle Village Association in memory of John McGonagle.Registration from 12.30 and Swim at 1pm.Suggested donation 10 euro individual/ 15 euro for family.Fancy Dress optional but shoes obligatory. Raffle tickets on sale now in the village and on the day.

Recastle Football Club- The first team had no game on Sunday last. The Reserves beat Clonmany 3-1, Michael Bonner 2 and Eunan Mullan got the goals.Underage football is currently running in the Community Centre on Wednesdays 5pm to 6.30pm; 5th and 6th class . Fridays 6.30pm to 745pm, 1st and 2nd class. Tuesdays 6pm to 715,junior and senior infants and 730 to 845pm 3rd and 4th class.

A meeting will be held in early January to select managers and coaches for the 2015 underage season. The

FAI now require all underage volunteers to undertake a child protection course and be Garda vetted, regardless of their role. Can anyone looking to get involved with a team next season, who is not already Garda vetted by the club get in touch with David on 0868253940 .
